I'm not quite sure how, but I was hit in the throat with a rounders ball today. Just in the little dip above the collar bone and under where the adam's apple appears on boys. Don't get me wrong, it hurt a lot (as I was the bowler and it was only hit about 3 metres from me) but for some reason, everyone was worried about it. My first concern was thrusting my fist in the air, clutching the ball with pride:
"She's out! I caught it, she's OUT!"
It still stings a little when I poke it, but I didn't have to go to matron. We had a particularly bad P.E lesson as injuries go:
1 head injury (bounced off her bat)
1 injury that I'm not really sure about (she went to matron, I have no idea why)
2 injuries in a collision (one was tripped over and hurt herself, the other had a shoulder injury and ended up in A&E because she couldn't move her arm)
30 odd aching hand, shins or knees from catching the ball, being hit by the ball or slipping on the grass trying to retrive the ball.
Brilliant.
-Hannah, over and out.
